In July 2022, TCM celebrates the work of Black Independent filmmakers. This video chronicles the rich history of Black indie movies dating back to the Race Movies of the 1920s to the present day, looking at the works of such luminaries as Charles Burnett, Jamaa Fanaka, Kathleen Collins, and Julie Dash.
