The FDA welcomed the announcement by Cinema First and Comparethemarket that they have renewed their partnership, and the ever-popular Meerkat Movies 2-for-1 cinema ticket promotion will continue for a further five years.

Meerkat Movies offers customers of price comparison website comparethemarket.com 2-for-1 cinema tickets every Tuesday or Wednesday, following the purchase of an eligible product. Established in March 2015, the rewards scheme is the longest running of its kind in the UK, delivering more than 44m cinema admissions through the promotion, which is available at over 80% of cinemas in the territory.

During a cinemagoing summer that included BarbieOppenheimerSpider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseMission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, big screen entertainment continued to be the most loved out-of-home leisure activity across the home nations. With ongoing pressure on domestic finances, the announcement should come as a boon to audiences seeking good value entertainment.
