Bank Holiday Bigstuff
If you missed this thrilling tale of love, death and carpet sales the first time round, now is the perfect time to put that right, sunshine. We’re showing all six episodes of the first series of Mr Bigstuff back-to-back – it’s a Bank Holiday Bigstuff boxset binge, baby!
For the uninitiated, let’s bring you up to speed. Mr Bigstuff tells the story of two estranged brothers; Glen (Ryan Sampson) a nervy perfectionist striving to live the suburban ideal and Lee (Danny Dyer) an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction and biscuit tin full of his dad’s ashes.
Glen and his fiancée Kirsty share a perfect, perfectly mundane life together. Sure, Glen’s got crippling erectile dysfunction and Kirsty has a secret shoplifting habit, but they’re happy. That is until Lee comes crashing into their lives, on the run from a past that’s quickly catching up with him. The trio are forced together: a perfectionist, a fantasist and an anarchist all living under the same roof in an Essex cul-de-sac. It’s not long before their ‘perfect’ lives start to unravel faster than a cheap carpet.
With series two rolling out in July, there’s no better time to jump aboard the Bigstuff bandwagon.

My Week with…
Maggi Hambling – Series 1, episode 1
Uncover the day-to-day lives of the world’s most extraordinary female artists in My Week With… In this brand new series, Sky Arts sends art expert Kate Bryan to spend a week with some of the most iconic and disruptive women artists. With up to half the footage captured by Kate on an iPhone, these films are intimate, candid, and refreshingly real.
In the first of three episodes, Kate fully immerses herself in the life and work of Maggi Hambling. Kate spends long days with Maggi at home and in her studio, where the artist rises daily at 5am, and sets to work despite her recent near-fatal heart attack. Discussing everything from her creative processes and her muses to speeding tickets, cinnamon buns and being a reluctant queer icon, this one-off film draws an intimate portrait of an artist usually out of the limelight, and explores her acclaimed body of work.
Part of Sky Arts’ Sisters of Disruption season.
